Addison Township offers the fewest services among neighboring townships
Addison Township is the least transparent
of all neighboring townships
To improve our township, we will pursue these reforms
- Update township website and use it to post meeting agendas, minutes, budgets, audits, and ordinances
- Create a resident newsletter
- Actively solicit community feedback
- Post detailed information about events and services
- Work to enhance food pantry offerings and operations
- Plan regular wellness, fitness, and social events for seniors
- Establish a “community lending closet” for donated items such as crutches or shower chairs
- Provide youth and family programming and services
- Provide job training and job search assistance programs
- Provide food pantry options for people with special dietary needs based on medical conditions or faith-based restrictions
- Make translators available to help non-native English speakers obtain services
- Work with local community organizations to provide diversity/inclusivity training and programing
- Focus on serving community, not increasing salaries
- Review budgets and work responsibilities to ensure spending is in line with service priorities
- Benchmark against other townships to find efficiencies without sacrificing services
- Explore resource-sharing options with other taxing bodies and local non-profit service providers to expand township offerings without increasing taxes
